About Tony Aston
I am a former police detective in the Midlands, and at Scotland Yard, before specialising in counter-espionage within the UK Defence Industry. I was born in 1953 in Redditch, Worcestershire and grew up there until I was sixteen years old. My first book, a memoir, "REDDITCH - From the Chip Shop to the Batchley", was published in May 2022. It tells stories of me growing up in the town during the 1950s and 60s.
I am a Fellow of The Security Institute and a member of both the Society of Authors and the Historical Writers Association.

I love all things historic, especially 20th century, and particularly that which relates to World War II and the later Irish Troubles. I have completed my next book, "The Bomber and the Weathervane", a non-fiction narrative linking an old weathervane, a WWII Lancaster bomber shot down in 1944 with all crew lost, and the International Bomber Command Centre. I'm hoping to get some good agent/publisher news soon. My current project is a work of fiction centred around a Midlands town during WWII, an enemy spy, a sexual predator and a young man shot at dawn during the first World War.
I have a passion for Birmingham City FC and chocolate Hob-Nobs!
I live in the heart of Devon with my wife, Kay, and faithful Golden Doodle, Harvey.
